I’m a certified trainer, and the creator of “Abs After 40” – the world renown fitness program for men our age. But how did I get to this point in my life?
I was always an athlete and enjoyed competing in various sports growing up. However, as I got older, I realized I wasn’t taking care of myself like I used to when I was in my 20’s and 30’s. It happened so slowly that I didn’t even realize it until my 30th High School reunion when I was 48 years old. It was there that it hit me. So many of the jocks and studs in High School had really let themselves go, and some of the “nerds” looked fantastic. I realized then just how much power we have over our own bodies… IF we know what to do, AND we act on that knowledge.
From that moment on, I dedicated myself to getting back into the best shape of my life. But it wasn’t easy. I spent an enormous amount of time researching all aspects of training and nutrition. I learned the importance of how our hormones change and effect our bodies as we age – especially testosterone. And I learned, sometimes the hard way, how to workout and exercise as a middle-aged man.
But knowledge without execution is worthless. So… I decided to motivate myself by entering a men’s physique competition. The next few months were incredibly hard, but I pushed myself way out of my comfort zone for the first time in 20 years. I stepped on stage with almost 30 competitors, and the next oldest to me was 27 years old. I didn’t win, but I held my own. A few months later, I competed in a second contest and ended up winning. And thus began my career in fitness. Not long after that, I went to work for one of the largest internet-based fitness companies in the world, and developed the hugely popular “Abs After 40” workout program.
So please join me, and take advantage of everything I’ve learned as a middle aged man, striving to get back into shape. The insights I provide come from a completely different perspective than all those young trainers out there who have yet to experience a blown disk, or sore joints, or low testosterone, or fatigue, or… you get the point. Fitness Forever is designed specifically for men in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s.
